In 1999 Jeremy Gilley desired there be one single day when all countries vowed not to wage war: a worldwide ceasefire and day of non-violence. He established Peace One Day. The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution formally establishing the UN International Day of Peace an annual Peace Day of global ceasefire and non-violence on 21 September.

So, today the pupils of Martonosha School have had the Peace One Day Celebration. The children were involved in  different activities dedicated to this day.
 The senior pupils have had the conference "Peace in Our Minds". They also watched the video with Jeremy Gilley, the founder of this organisation. Some pupils presented their projects on the topics "Ukraine is an area of conflict but not the zone of indifference" and "Peace begins with a smile". 

  

 

The pupils of the 5-8 forms  drew with chalk. They created "The Colourful Territory of Peace" in front of the school.

And the youngest pupils of our school painted the posters "The Bright Colours of Peace".

The children were active and inspired by Peace One Day because they know: all that our country needs now is peace!
